If you were searching for an unusually friendly place to drink your morning coffee, have breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and a drink – you’ve found it. Depending on the part of day, “Od Usta do Usta” can fulfill any of you needs, but it surely stands out for its atmosphere and hospitality. The name literally means from mouth to mouth, since the place has been hiding in an apartment in the very beginning, serving only few daily meals cooked by the owners. In the meantime, it kept its stunning point-blank approach, but became a real restaurant with loyal customers.
The interior resembles a home in its corners (with books and photographs), while the menu is written on the blackboard, and there are no matching chairs or tables; also, the music playing in the background is a mixture of obscure local artists and famous bands. As for the food, it is made from seasonal vegetables, offering diverse meals: from basic ones (soups and salads) to home-made ravioli, varieties of tarte flambée and various sweets. You can choose from a few local wines and there is also draft domestic craft beer, but I’d always recommend the tasty, custom-made apple juice.
“Od Usta do Usta” is pet friendly, children friendly and party friendly; chances are you will meet some interesting people in here. At the end of the day, this is far more that a restaurant for me: it is a cozy unpretentious gathering place with delicious food, where anyone feels like a neighbour.
