The Burgeramt, lives in the very centre of Friedrichshain, on Boxhagenerplatz to be exact. So, on Sundays you can combine this visit with the local flea market. But you don’t have to. All you need is a big appetite. That’s why this is my burger recommendation for the Friedrichshain visitor. Get ready for plenty of burger variations and quite impressive portions, particularly for Berlin.
You’ve got your special burger, spiced with thyme. You’ve got the classic burger with every topping you can imagine, cheeseburgers, Köfte burgers, chicken, and a healthy choice of all kinds of veggie burgers. There’s finger food and we’re not even going to go into the extras and the different types of fries.
If you manage to plan ahead it’s always good to book a table, but the place is big enough and the staff efficient so you can definitely just show up. Just be prepared to wait a few minutes for a table during peak hours.
Also, fast food is not really fast in this city in general. We march to the beat of our own drum here in Berlin. So best not to come in a hurry, and if you do, maybe book ahead during the quieter times. We like to chat before we eat, drink a little, maybe have some nibbles. Relax, and good things will come.
