I always feel a bit secretive when I visit Klunkerkranich. At first, you enter a standard German mall (named ‘Neukölln Arcaden’). You find the elevator and go up to the fifth floor. Walk along the parking deck, up the last ramp, and you’ll find what’s probably the most wonderful rooftop garden in Berlin!
It is a cosy place where you can have a beer and relax with your friends among wild flowers and artsy decoration, all while enjoying the craziness of Berlin from above. Apart from the huge terrace, there are two wooden huts you can either simply run into in case of rain, hit the dancefloor in or listen to concerts (check out the program on their website).
Klunkerkranich is not a place that I would visit every day. After 16:00, there is an entrance fee of 3-6 Euros (depending on the program) and the drinks are definitely on the pricier side. On sunny weekends, you might also need to queue up for a bit. However, every time I get up there, the amazing view makes up for all of this.
