I’ve never really considered myself a sushi fanatic and have not really eaten a great deal of variety but I have gotten quite attached to Musashi since I discovered it across the road from my gym years ago.
It’s actually what got me back into eating sushi after a long hiatus. I just really enjoy the quaint little spot to sit and enjoy my meal. When I say quaint I mean shoebox size. Getting a spot that doesn’t have you bumping shoulders with the other customers can be tricky some evenings but it all kinda adds to the charm really. Especially if you get the window seat — it makes for great people-watching.
The decor is quite homely with the occasional retro Japanese pop song playing alongside your food.
If sushi isn’t really your thing I can also HIGHLY recommend the curry katsu-don. Katsu-don is the Japanese take on breaded chicken (schnitzel) but the panko breadcrumbs give it much more crunch and pairs extraordinarily well with the curry sauce! Yeh yeh, ok, its simple pleasures in life I get excited about.
