Prinzessinngärten is an urban garden project/beer garden/pizza joint. I love coming here in the summertime to beat the heat under its shady trees, wander through this year’s harvest, and drink a delicious coffee.
They market themselves as a “nomadic garden project” and place great emphasis on growing local, organic food and on sustainable living. This is reflected in the quality of the products they serve in the restaurant, pizza stand and café on site. They also serve locally brewed beer on tap that’s perfect on a hot summer afternoon.
Entrance to the gardens is open to the public for free, and there is plenty of space to spread out at their tables, but it’s best to order something if you plan on occupying a space for long.
I like coming here any time of day, but my favorite time, particularly in the summer, is in the evening when the gardens are beautifully lit with lanterns and the pesky wasps have retired for the day.
