Not too chewy, not too creamy – although it seems to be quite an easy dish (I mean, it’s basically only rice porridge with one or two more ingredients), risotto is pretty hard to make. In fact this hard reality has been proven to me by my own attempts and that weird slimy rice concoction they serve at my university’s canteen…
However, the crew at Reisfreude knows better. Your risotto is freshly and perfectly prepared to order and promptly boosted with delicious ingredients according to their weekly changing menu, such as blueberries and goat cheese, or gorgonzola, walnuts and pear. Don’t worry; if you aren’t into cheese for some reason, there’s always a vegan option.
Anyhow risotto itself is also not the only option in this place. In line with their name, Reisfreude (which can be loosely translated as “the joy of rice”) sells all kinds of rice products, such as rice salads, rice noodles, rice milk chocolate and a variety of rice desserts. Of course, this is a great spot for all the folks who are gluten-free, but also just for anyone who simply wants to embrace the joy of rice.
