I wouldn’t go so far as saying that this is a secret, but I am very confident that many locals don’t have a clue about this rooftop bar in the middle of the old town.
Being an avid Spotter, it took me a year, even though I’ve been working around the corner. That is, because you can only reach Attika Bar by crossing the lobby of Hotel Bern and then obviously by lift.
The strategic location is, in one word: ace! So is the view. After so many years in this city, I still find the view of the roofs of the historic core and of the Swiss Alps mesmerizing. From the roof you can spot several landmarks such as the minster, the Zytglogge tower and the cuppolas of the Federal Parliament.
When it comes to the menu, a good selection of classic drinks and bar snacks awaits you. The cocktails are well presented and very reasonably priced, especially for a bar with a view.
Attika Bar is open all year long, but only to spontaneous hedonists: reservations are not possible.
