Chillfood’s Füüri is one of those places that make you wish that summer never ended. It is also the perfect spot for barbecue lovers, pyromaniacs and campfire romantics.
Only a short walk from the train station, a magical outdoor fire cooking experience awaits you directly on the shores of the Aare. Skilled swimmers can combine a dip in the river with some fiery food afterward. It is a very chilled spot (pun intended:-), where you can show up with your bathing cover, enjoy superb food and unwind from a hectic day all at the same time.
Part of the fun is grilling on your own with a stick in firepots. I recommend shortening the waiting time with one of their signature fermented drinks or tonics. There are scrumptious set options on Thursdays and Fridays prepared by the motivated staff. For example Persian skewers, Croatian peka (a sort of fire vessel), etc. Veggie lovers, listen up: the Füüri crew has a soft spot for you and provides you with several vegan and vegetarian options like bread with velvety fire-roasted spreads, sweet potatoes and many more smoky dishes.
To get there you can orientate yourself by the Lorraine bridge. After having passed the bridge from the city center, you cross the parking lot and take the stairs. Then you look out for a fabulous brick building (a former brewery).
Soundtrack tip: Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple.
