Attention tea aficionados: tea nirvana is waiting for you in Bern! To begin with, the interior of Länggasstee is beautiful – it has an antique flair and is filled with an intense aroma of teas.
Take the creaking winding staircase to access the snug upper floor to have a cuppa. I love to broaden my tea horizont in Länggasstee, by enjoying a flight of different teas or Japanese sweet treats. Simply sensational is their high tea for two people, which is available daily (booking is recommended though), apart from Saturday mornings. It consists of an etagere with high quality sweet and savory delicacies served with teas of your choice. This makes a generous full meal, I can tell you that the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Recently, they introduced a Japanese breakfast on Saturday mornings. Be aware that the breakfast is popular and you need to make reservations in advance. I can’t wait to try this new offer and have my zen moment.
If you want to deepen your tea knowledge, you could also attend one of their seminars (in German), a Japanese tea ceremony or a thematic tasting.
You find a wide selection of affordable quality teas and infusions, but also rarities for connoisseurs in the shop. Their knowledgeable staff would be happy to give you advice. I have never walked out with empty hands from Länggasstee. Either I treat myself with one of their teas or I buy one of their lovely gift sets as a present.
