The name says it all – In Les Amis you could make new friends every evening! It’s a small bar in a very lively part of town. A favourite place of artists, students and night owls alike, many of whom enjoy that there are some tables and chairs outside where you can smoke, sheltered from rain or the heat thanks to the so called Laube, arcades which are an architectural feature that is very characteristic of Bern.

Inside you find a super well equipped bar, space for a couple of tables which are sometimes removed, though in order to make space for hosting concerts.

Downstairs, there’s another room called Wohnzimmer (living room) where you can also enjoy evenings filled with music between Jazz and Techno. If I plan to go there, I make sure not to leave home too late, since the small space can easily get super-packed.  

Les Amis is located right next to another favourite place of mine called 3 Eidgenossen. I often hop between those two bars during long summer nights when I don’t feel like going home early…
