Restaurant Du Nord had some turbulent last years, but since the new (actually former) owners took over in 2014, it kind of came back to being the safe haven, being a reliable restaurant people from the Lorraine neighbourhood like to frequent.

On Saturdays and Sundays, Du Nord offers breakfast up until 4pm, ideal for hungover party goers or a loooong lazy morning with friends.

During the week, the menu changes regularly, there’s always at least one meaty option, a vegetarian and a vegan one. The wine list is quite impressive and there’s also a nice variety of soft drinks that which are not produced by big multinational companies.

Restaurant Du Nord uses mostly regional and seasonal products from well known and trusted suppliers in and around Bern.

There are quite a few tables outside, in summer you can choose between a place in the shade under some big trees or a seat in the sun overlooking the Lorrainestrasse.
