Baku Cityscape with Flame Towers (by Lloyd Alozie)

One of the next city guides we would like to launch as part of our fight against overtourism is Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan!

Although Baku (and Azerbaijan in general) has experienced a rise in popularity in recent years, it’s still much too unknown to many travelers. We would like to change this and we hope to find a nice group of Baku loving locals who want to help us do that :).

Baku (by Francisco Anzola)

With its three major divisions, İçəri Şəhər, the ancient city, the Soviet built city, and the modern part, it’s a fascinating city. Baku has beautiful tourist highlights such as the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Maiden Tower, the Fountain Square, and the Heydar Aliyev Center.

But what is it like to experience Baku like a local? Where can you get the best coffee or local Plov? Where do locals relax or celebrate? This is what we and many travelers want to know!

Are you a Baku loving local?

We aim to show visitors (and locals!) the real culture of Baku beyond the tourist highlights. We are looking for locals who’d like to share their passion and spread the word about Baku by blogging about their favorite spots. Browse around our current 80+ city blogs and learn more about our amazing community & vision!
