Last Thursday, we left on our 3 week roadtrip to meet Spotters in 9 of the current Spotted by Locals cities.
Stop 1, after a 9 hour drive from flat Holland to hilly Bavaria: Munich. Monocle magazine just awarded Munich to be the most liveable city in the world.
In less than 48 hours a great local experience thanks to our local Munich Spotters!
The first night, we met Andreas Eder at one of the most beautiful city beach bars we’ve seen in Europe – Kulturstrand (see first picture!), and watched the Worldcup match Netherlands – Cameroon in one of his favorite pubs.
The day after, we had a drink with two other Spotters – Andreas Kowallik and Matthew Scholl in one of local Matthew’s favorite bars – Selig. Unfortunately we could not meet Emily in person, since she was on holiday…
Some other things we did – and definitely recommend…
Eisbach-Welle – this must be the only spot in the world where you can watch wave surfers in the middle of the center of a city!
Dicke Sophie – a really local biergarten 15 minutes by train. Worth the trip!
