It’s strange (and slightly worrying) to feel attached to a liquor store, but if I had to pick one, the Wine Press would be it. I hope any visitor to Boston that enjoys wine and craft beer will enjoy browsing here as much as I do.
First of all, the outside is adorable, with striped awnings, huge display windows and barrels of flowers. The interior of the Wine Press is similarly inviting. A huge selection of wines are neatly stacked in large, rustic wood crates on the floor and wooden racks along the wall, clearly labeled by type and region.
The Wine Press also has a large selection of craft, local, and seasonal beers. If you want a true taste of New England, this is where you want to go to pick up Jack’s Abby, or the Boston staple, Sam Adams. I particularly recommend the Downeast cider – delicious, sweet, and brewed right outside of Boston!
