Once you arrive to Bratislava tired and hungry, your first way shall lead to Verne restaurant and bar. Before checking around the old town just take a seat on its perfect terrace and order coffee or a tasty beer, which is always served in the best way, cold, full jar, with soft foam on the top. Verne is one of the locals’ favourite places and even if you are a foreigner, you will definitely not feel like a stranger. This is one part of Bratislava: the palm sized old town, its cobble stones and recently renovated old villas with special soul, internal yards, high ceilings and a lively history.
Hungry? 🙂 The kitchen here is as we call it “mum’s one” and prices are rather cheap. If you are into specialities and extraordinary tastes, you should probably stay with your lemonade. If you like domestic tastes, then go on, order something from the daily menu, or just remember that by ordering any kind of lasagne (one with fresh spinach or meat), a really rich tuna fish salad, a simple risotto and for dessert a delicious pancake with creamy cottage cheese, you just cannot make a mistake!
Verne is a place where you can sit all day without noticing you haven’t moved; just your soul was flying.
