In recent years there has been a new trend in Bratislava and I love it – revitalizing. I am so happy that so many abandoned but once great places that slowly became just something like sore memories of their previous fame, are taken and remodeled to something different and new, but equally great. For example, this beer pub called Kollarko, because it is located on Kollárovo square.
It used to be a coffee house, then it was a travel agency and then for years it was just a hollow space right in the city center. Now, Kollarko is a great beer palace with different beers brewed all around Slovakia, so you can try something you probably wouldn’t be able to experience anywhere else. The interior is industrial but cozy and a nice surprise is a snack given for free. It is called chrumky – peanut butter and corn chips very popular in Slovakia and so delicious I really recommend them as well.
Kollarko consists of three spaces – underground smoking area, interior nonsmoking space and during the warmer weather you can sit outside under the lights. I definitely recommend Kollarko for beer enthusiasts like myself.
