Following the growing trend of Slovak people travelling to South-East Asia, Bratislava got filled with Vietnamese restaurants. This cuisine, unlike the spicier Thai one, had a real success here. Nevertheless, there is only one place in the city that I really enjoy, and that is Papaya. As we live really close by and eat there a lot, I wouldn’t be surprised if my family were the most regular customers!
Do not expect anything special either in the outside or the inside – it looks like a regular Asian bistro, yet cleaner I would say. The design is simple and functional. People don’t go there to hang around, but rather to have a quick but delicious lunch or dinner.
Be careful, it is very likely you will get completely addicted to their pho. If you’re in a mood for something spicier, opt for the fish soup or the Hue soup, I love them all.
