One thing I used to enjoy so much during my travels around Europe and missed in Bratislava was HAMBURGERS. In the past, I could only dream about those homemade buns, huge pieces of ground 100% beef and fresh vegetables and sauces to accompany it. This has become reality in Bratislava thanks to its first proper burger place – Regal Burger!
Since I first came in, I saw it had all the elements of a good burger place – small and simple, but nicely designed interior, a counter and an open kitchen behind, nice but not overwhelming portions, and reasonable prices for the quality offered.
Still, this was not all of it! I was surprised to find such great staff. I would expect them to throw us straight out, as I was in the company of 3 loud and budget-restrained teenagers, but it was quite the opposite. We chatted for like 5 minutes before ordering the meal, and they were so willing to discuss and solve my dilemma between the classic and the vegetarian burger option. I learned that they are a group of 3 fresh university graduates – in philosophy, chemistry and economics – so not much to do with cuisine, but they make hella good hamburgers! This proves that high quality and fresh ingredients make miracles.
Hamburgers are served in a classic way – wrapped in paper in breadbaskets and eaten with the hands. Make sure to stop by when wandering in the city center – you will find Regal just a few steps from the Old theater!
