If I were a tourist in Bratislava, I would definitely visit this spot. slávica is a unique local design shop located in the pedestrian zone of the old city. For a few years the shop was hard to find, being situated on the 4th floor of KC Dunaj, but on the 18th of May 2015 they opened a nice gallery space at Laurinská street. Among others, slowatch (bike concept store) and kompot (local tees) attract visitors and locals too.
The shop is run by the very kind owner Ivica. She will give you tips on where to go and what to see, do not hesitate to ask her.
Everybody likes presents. So buy something for your friends, brothers and sisters or for yourself. Just to remember you have been to Bratislava. Almost everything is handmade in Slovakia. There are local brands from more than 140 local designers. You can find clothes, bags, notebooks, shoes, wallets, books, porcelain, jewellery, ceramics, accessories and much more.
If you get lucky, every 3 months there is a vernissage opening and a new painter is introduced.
Support locals, go there rather than to a shopping mall :-). At least you can see the unique space which is the winner of the interior category of CE-ZA-AR prize 2016 (architecture). Enjoy!
