The Old Market Hall is now a true heart of the cultural life in the center of Bratislava, but not so long ago this beautiful place was fighting for its survival. Now I cannot imagine the square without the music from concerts taking place in the Old Market Hall or without the delicious smell coming from the food stalls parked in front of the building. These stalls: that is the Street Food Park.
Every month, from Wednesday to Saturday, you can find a world selection of food in one place and it is something else. It usually happens during the third week of the month, but you should check their site for information. When I say a worldwide cuisine I really mean it, and although the vendors are changing all the time, you can always find everything from Asian cuisine to hot dogs and burgers, or traditional Slovak potato dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon.
Street Food Market has also a wide selection of vegetarian food and also something for those with a sweet tooth. The event is zero-waste oriented – there are recycling bins and you will find no plastic here. Expect a longer line, but also a tasty atmosphere.
