There is a breakfast boom in Bratislava now, so many new cafes and cosy small bistros serve breakfast. They start usually from 07:00 or 08:00 and some of them serve breakfast all day long. Working class heroes, zombies escaping from clubs in the morning or tourists, they all can enjoy morning coffee and tasty breakfast. I will mention the newest one, but it’s not the only one in town. I guess there are more than 10 to 15 really nice places.
Štúr cafe – early bird opens at 07:00. It is an all day breakfast concept, so you can enjoy your omelette, ham & eggs or porridge with coffee, orange fresh or homemade lemonades all day. They also offer a whisky burger with a homemade Jack Daniels whiskey sauce, couscous, bulgur, salads and quiches. It is situated only a few minutes from the train station in a green historical building.
The nice and simple interior makes you focus on the food and drinks. There are wings under the ceiling as a symbol of an early bird, which is also in their logo. You can take your kids to have pancakes or delicious deserts. I adore cheescake. It is non-smoking, of course. Dogs are allowed.
You might have a problem to understand the menu, even if you speak Slovak fluently, cause the menu is in wannabe old Slovak language. So do not hesitate to ask the staff for advice. They are very kind and helpful.
Tasty breakfast makes my day!
