When walking around Jakubovo namestie or the famous Blue Church in Bratislava, you shouldn’t miss nice, art-inspired restaurant U Kubistu, situated on the corner of Grosslingova and Klemensova streets. The name evokes the cubist movement, although the interior is more inspired by modern design, and so is the food. The dishes you get here are just like pieces of modern art. All of them are served with imaginative sides decorated with edible flowers or sprouts. It’s pure happiness in front of you!
Another strong point is the personnel – they are extremely kind and attentive. You are served a cup of water immediately as you arrive and advised on a meal if you cannot decide. My personal favourites are their soups, which are always excellent. Otherwise you can choose from a menu which changes regularly with the season, thus ensuring it is always made with fresh ingredients. Their traditional hummus remains on the menu all year long, and is served with a small salad and a socca pancake. From the drinks menu I love their organic teas and lemonades.
The place is quite popular among the locals, and although most of the time I manage to find a place, it might be wise to make a reservation if there is more of you 😉
