I could not list my favourite places in Brussels without mentioning Le Cercle des Voyageurs. True, this restaurant is already included in most guides, and I prefer going off the beaten track. However, in my opinion, there is no better place in the city center to enjoy a good glass of wine with a fine dinner at a fair price. If you like travel, the spectacular wall of suitcases going up to the high ceiling, adorned with an old world map, will catch your eye. Moreover, should you need inspiration for your next trip, travel books and magazines are conveniently displayed above the wooden benches all along the main wall.

Much like Doctor Who’s time machine, Le Cercle des Voyageurs is bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. The main room is connected to two secondary rooms, one of which can be rented for private parties and holds a stage – perfect for musical events. The entire decor is refined, without being ostentatious. It is the perfect place to sip a glass of wine, or something stronger (cocktails and spirits are available).

Let’s talk about the menu, which is as comforting and as appetizing as the decor. Whether you are coming with family, friends, or colleagues, everyone is sure to find something they will enjoy: meat, fish, vegetarian dishes… There are many options from classic to fancy so that no one is left out. It’s worth booking in advance as the restaurant is full most of the time.
