The Booze ‘n’ Blues is a small and wonderful place. I first discovered it in 2009 and immediately fell in love with its uncanny decor and its musical atmosphere. As the name indicates, it is the temple of blues! From Fat Domino to Jimi Hendrix through Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc., the music is 100% bluesy, sometimes verging on rock ‘n’ roll.
Every other Thursday, the tiny stage hosts a band that will set the bar on fire. Musicians come from all over: Belgium, Holland, Norway, and even Mexico. After the concert, people interact and new friends are made until the small hours. When there is no live music, you can use the old jukebox to play a tune or rely on the owner‘s excellent playlist to transport you to the Bayou. The decor is a motley collection of strange, fascinating objects: a piece of the Atomium hangs from the ceiling and the shelves behind the bar are crowded with antiques (neon signs, toys, vintage posters, old radios…).
The drinks menu has something for everyone: draft and bottled beers, bourbons, whiskies, cocktails… Prices are low and the atmosphere will warm your heart. I recommend this place at any time, to start off the weekend or to finish the night.
