If, like me, you’re a bad cook with a sweet tooth, you will love Tartes Françoises. The pies look and taste homemade – they are to die for. My personal favourites are the banana bread and the mini gourmand at only 1.50€. You can buy from the shop or from their website: they offer click-and-collect as well as a delivery service.

Whenever I need a tart to bring to the office for a special occasion, a birthday cake, or the right dessert to round off a meal, Les tartes de Françoise is my go-to baker. The display is mouthwatering and so varied it is hard to choose. If you don’t find what you’re looking for you can also place an order, they cater for small and large events.

Les tartes de Françoise is a chain store available in several districts of Brussels. The one I particularly recommend is my local store in Auderghem, where the staff always has a kind word, wraps your pies with love, and seems genuinely happy to sell the goods. My kids love their pastries and so do my friends! It’s a good pitstop before heading to Woluwe Park or before a hike on Brussels’ green way (Promenade Verte).
