“Turn right at the giant chess pieces, straight on past the hopscotch, when you see the twister make a left and you’ve found us” is what I had to say the night I gathered my closest friends to celebrate my B-day at Lente & Sotron.
This place is entirely dedicated to the art of playing in many of its forms, from geeky board games to nostalgic retro arcade games to the latest Nintendo. But we all know that play is never just about the game, but also about the spirit of the player.
That’s what Lente & Sotron is trying to remind us of by filling their walls with giant scrabble words like “relax” and “imagine” or big letters that read “together is our favorite place to be”. Even their menu is a playground filled with Sudoku, word games and other “blasts from the past” (it’s also filled with drinks and food but who cares about that).
It also has one of my favorite quotes that states the reason why I decided I wanted to turn 30 while playing Activity: “We don’t stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing.” – George Bernard Shaw.
