If you’re having a very touristy day in Bucharest and you’ve been to Casa Poporului, Hanul lui Manuc, have seen all the churches and all the houses in Old City, perhaps you need a change of pace and scenery.
How about getting a haircut and a drink in a clothing shop? “aaa…mmm…?”. Exactly. You need it, trust me.
So let’s visit The Urbanist, just around the corner from Hanul lui Manuc, where you get a bar in front, clothes in the back, every other Sunday a barbershop and from time to time other kinds of events like tattoo sessions. Also, you get to discover a very good Romanian designer: Ioana Ciolacu, alongside Carhartt WIP, Onitsuka Tiger, New Balance and other brands.
Spend an hour sipping some wine, next to a few lumbersexuals, get some cool shoes and a well-trimmed beard and you’ll be ready for another round of history lessons.
And if you haven’t had enough, remember to hunt down those tattoo sessions after a long night of cocktails and shots – now that should make some history.
