When you visit Budapest, I am sure you’ll soon find yourself here at Clark Adam square (which was named after the Scottish engineer of the Lánchíd). The edge of the bridge in the Buda side is a marvelous place, opposite the great view of Pest, behind the Vár (castle) and the giant tunnel through the castle hill. But it is probably the busiest touristic place and it’s hard to find anything not customized for mass tourism. I wanted to put Bortársaság on the map for you guys who are interested in something local and original and still looking for some souvenir.
Hungarian wine (bor) products are world-famous, but it is easy to be misled as a tourist by the overpriced bottles of the souvenir shops. However, one can absolutely trust each bottle of the wide range at Bortársaság. The assortment starts at good wines and goes up to the superb and unique items. One can choose from the many wine regions all over the country and they sell champagne and beer as well. The assistants are well informed and educated about wine production, so do not hesitate to ask them about the products or anything relevant.
The dedicated managers of Bortársaság have done a good job developing the Hungarian wine market since 1993. Small local producers are welcome here, the only requirement is quality. They have several shops around the city and this one is the largest.
