Gellért hill is a fun place to visit, you can get to the top to check out the breathtaking view, enjoy a stroll among the trees or have a nice picnic on one of the lawns.
But did you know that there are 4 playgrounds on the hill? The most fun one is also the easiest to find! To discover this hidden gem you need to get to the Buda side of the Liberty bridge, you will see the Gellért hotel on the left, start going up the hill, you will also see the Church in the rock right there, just follow the table saying (‘CSÚSZDÁK’ it means ‘slides’ in Hungarian). The greatest part? Here you will see not only happy children of any age but also smiling adults that enjoy the place at least as much as kids, if not more. I especially adore the trampolines and the huge slides, they allow me to get back to my cheerful childhood for a bit.
This two-level playground has all you need for climbing, jumping, sliding, swinging, you name it. It also has sandboxes, swings, and trampolines for the youngest kids. It is protected well from both wind and sun so being there is really enjoyable in the summer or on a windy day. An atmospheric, creative, and exciting place if you want to escape the buzz of city life and get into a fairy tale!
