Macska instantly became our favourite meeting point for drinks with friends when we first set foot into the premises: the staff was very friendly and the whole place fun and cosy. It felt just like home. True to its name (“cat” in Hungarian), the place has been decorated with everything that relates to cats, from little wooden statues which serve as racks to artwork featuring felines.
Macska has two levels: on the ground floor where you can order and sit with larger groups, and the upstairs where you have to navigate carefully to not bump your head but where you can sit on pillows and even a hammock-chair!
Choose whichever fits your personality best, then it’s time to get some drinks and food! The staff is wonderful and will help you decide from the menu: they have craft beers and draught beers, but also some non-alcoholic gems like ginger syrup. You can also get some dried ginger to go with your drink.
But there’s more! At Macska, you can get your hands on some awesome vegetarian and vegan dishes like the Green Monster (a very filling cream soup featuring various green veggies), quesadilla or bean soup (a favorite of my male friends). To top it all, they always try a new cookie recipe that they are more than willing to share, so don’t be shy.
If you call yourself a cat lady (or lord) and/or you like vegetarian food, this place is definitely for you!
