My love of a pretty houseplant is only surpassed by my ability to kill them and I have always dreamed of someone who could help me, sort of a plant whisperer who would tell me which plants would survive my downtown apartment and ‘loving’ care. My prayers were answered when I entered Wild Flower Bar, explained my situation and got practical advice on what to do. It wasn’t the kind of patronizing information that you often get from experts on any topic, but kind, friendly and useful suggestions- I am thus happy to say that all the plants I purchased from the Wild Flower Bar are still alive and thriving and they enthusiastically provided me with tips on the right size of pots and best types of soil too.
In case you are actually knowledgeable on the matter of greenery and want something more exotic, they also stock rarities, though sometimes for a very particular order it’s best to get in touch by email first to check for availability. Besides potted plants, Wild Flower Bar also offers carefully selected cut flowers from local growers, with the occasional seasonal ‘market’ when one type of flower is available in large numbers, such as the early spring tulip days with fresh flowers from the village of Makó.
They also regularly organize workshops on floral arrangements and calligraphy and offer a range of organic Danish cosmetics and a small collection of select teas.
