I’m always walking around in my favorite place in Cairo downtown. During my walks, I would always see people stuffed in lines sticking their mouths in their plates in front of a food cart. So I entered the restaurant & ordered koshary. It is simple: you choose between spaghetti & penne and add kebda meat, sogoa, or koshary.
The plate came with tomato sauce with a perfect balance of garlic, and there was a lot of caramelized onions on the top, & lentils. I started stirring this sexy combination together. I couldn’t stop eating wowow.
Baba Abdo first started as a food cart on the street, that is why it is standing outside the restaurant. He has two restaurants facing each other. The people prefer to eat from the food cart outdoor, sitting on the pavement and sinking into their pasta plate. Baba Abdo serves the best pasta I could ever eat and for the most reasonable price. It was great experience to eat like a local, far from luxurious restaurants with unreasonable taxes & service. I didn’t expect that a small alley off Shawarby street could have such delicious food like this.
