Elbet Alwan – A mood uplifter discovered

Elbet Alwan means ‘a box of colors’ in Arabic, but this spot is not only about colors in the literal sense. It is an Egyptian culture hub where you can choose to do one of many things: if you are just looking for a place to unwind your mind by painting and coloring, by attending workshops, or by listening to live music, they have got you covered.

I remember a few years back when I first visited Elbet Alwan -at their old branch- and was absolutely mind-blown by how simple the place was and how the main concept behind it all was about letting you be. You only have to carry yourself, get there and do whatever you feel like doing. To top that off, they provide wifi connection with the possibility to buy antiques or handmade crafts, watch a movie or call it a night with a ping pong or pool match with any of the guests there. You will always find someone roaming around looking for a game partner.

One more thing worth mentioning: it is a self-service place, so be prepared to take bring out the barista in you and make your own drink.
