I entered a small alley in downtown, as I adore the small streets & alleys hidden in the Cairo. I saw Kafein cafe and heard Western music playing. The design felt like a mix of different elements of particular New York City cafés and Egyptian ahwas, cafe.
I entered the cafe & was surprised that it was crowded but cozy. The walls of Kafein also serve as a gallery space for local artists to exhibit their works. I knew from them that their vision is to add a new element in the cafe scene in Cairo.
Kafein’s concept behind the space is to fuse global coffee & tea culture with the tastes & spirit of Cairo. Kafein serves premium loose-leaf teas, coffees, seasonal juices, and a small selection of tasty sandwiches and shisha. I could also smell the breathtaking shisha flavors as they were all over the place. Kafein has indoor & outdoor tables. It is dedicated to inspiring creativity, thinking & making new friendships.
