I was raised in Egypt, and eating koshary is like a license of being Egyptian. It is the first question anyone would ask a visitor: “have you tried koshary?” It is a staple Egyptian dish. It is yummy dish almost entirely made up of carbohydrates: rice, lentils, macaroni, and hummus, with a splash of tomato, garlic sauce, lemon, and some fried onions for fun. It is insane that such a weird mixture is in one meal — only in Egypt.
I like eating koshary a lot, so I have become an expert in where to get my yummy food from. After many trials, I have discovered a certain place that serves koshary with an irresistible taste. It is Sayed Hanafy Koshary.
It makes me love waiting till I find a free table to enjoy the taste of different koshary dishes. My favourite branch is the outdoor & indoor restaurant in downtown. The branch location and the taste will make you want to pause and enjoy the food.
Sayed Hanafy is a unique experience and not known to many visitors.
