Boiler Room – Artistic pizza spot

Boiler Room in Logan Square is a delectable dinner spot with excellent prices. Serving up unique pizzas by the slice or whole pie (think pizzas topped with pickles or Thai cream cheese), they are probably most known for their PBJ special: a PBR, shot of Jameson, and slice of pizza for $10. While this off-the-blue-line stop is cash only, if you use their ATM and show the staff the receipt, they will give you a free shot of Jameson too.

One of my favorite aspects of this place is actually the bathroom, which is a replica of an L train car, but with lots of decorative graffiti. However, if I’m ever in this neighborhood, I think it’s a great stop for a bite as well, with a fun atmosphere; the inside has a casual vibe with some chairs made out of seatbelts and the outdoor patio is sprawling and feels like you’re in someone’s backyard. You’ll easily recognize Boiler Room by their mural of an octopus holding a beer on the outside of the building, adding to the artistic space.

Lastly, I can’t forget to mention they have a lot of vegan options on the menu, but the piece de resistance in my opinion is their jalapeno poppers served with strawberry jam. It’s an appetizer not to be missed at this trendy pizza place.
