Michigan Avenue has a plethora of hotels with fantastic restaurants and bars. One of the newest editions to the rotation of fancy hotels, that has upgraded their restaurant and bar scene, is the Chicago Athletic Association. This historic space was reinvigorated in 2015 and pays homage to its history with restaurant and bar concepts that showcase cocktails, cuisines and decor that are reminiscent of another time.
The juxtaposition of new and old is what makes CAA a unique place to visit. If you didn’t plan your trip ahead to get tickets for the exclusive Milk Room bar or make reservations for Cindy’s on the Roof or Cherry Circle Room, the next best thing is to enjoy the amenities of the CAA’s game room. As you pass through the Drawing Room on the second floor, you enter into a large open concept room where there is plenty of adult fun to be had. Bocce ball, pool and other live action games can be played while enjoying some of the classiest and tastiest cocktails around.
Additionally, there’s a stellar food menu with upscale bar snacks that are not your average burgers and fries. Grab some coca cola braised pork tacos to nosh on or get a little adventurous with their blistered shishito peppers smothered in a chili-lime aioli peanuts, cilantro and parmesan. Whatever you decide on, it’s pretty much all finger foods to nibble on while you play! Cheers!
