Colectivo is an independent Milwaukee-based coffee roaster and cafe. I actually visited the cafe during a trip to Milwaukee about a year ago, and I remember wishing Colectivo would open up in Chicago.
Well, dreams do come true because Colectivo just opened a brand new cafe in Lincoln Park this past May. The actual coffee shop is a bit tiny, but there is a massive patio with plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy Chicago fall. There’s even a fire pit for night time hangouts or cooler fall days. The interior is filled with bright colors and funky, Latin American-inspired decor.
The coffee is all hand-roasted, which you know means quality. The coffee tastes fresh and smooth. To be clear, I’m no coffee expert, as I basically drink any cup with caffeine, but I can tell that this coffee is one of the best cups around.
In addition to the fantastic coffees, Colectivo has a small food menu with sandwiches and – wait for it – all-day breakfast. Game changer.
If coffee isn’t your thing, they have beer on draft from a local craft brewery making Colectivo a perfect place to enjoy Chicago summers after working hours.
