Dinkel’s has been around for almost 100 years making it a timeless Chicago institution. In fact, last time I was there, I overheard an older woman telling her grandson that she used to come here as a little girl, her grandson’s nose pressed against the case of cookies. My heart is melting. But I feel like that story pretty much sums up Dinkel’s.
At Dinkel’s, you can pretty much find anything, such as delicious cakes, donuts, cookies, breads, and other types of pastries. You can’t just pick one, so I recommend getting everything. Your waistline may not agree with this recommendation, since you can pretty much taste the butter in all of their snacks, but it’s well-worth the try.
They also have a cafe serving sandwiches and salads, if you’re in the mood for something more savory.
