I was first introduced to Flo and Santos when I went there for a pizza club meeting. My favorite pizza there is Marco’s Italian Beef – it has shaved beef, giardiniera, caramelized onions and fire roasted tomatoes.
Located in the south loop near the Roosevelt el stop, Flo and Santos is a bar with great pizza and, surprisingly, classic Polish dishes too, like pierogies and kielbasa with sauerkraut. They have some Chicago favorites too like Italian beef and a great beer selection including a handful of Polish beers. The bar is always full and the crowd turns lively usually after 20:00. Patrons can enjoy the food along with the scenery in their outdoor patio during the summer months.
Sitting outside you’ll get a classic view of Chicago as the el train passes by. Occasionally they have live music on the patio. Last time I was there – it was perfect. Nice music – acoustic guitar and harmonica – but not too loud, so our group was able to have nice conversations.
