This north side nugget is one of my go-to neighborhood spots in Chicago for libations and sustenance that never disappoints. Fountainhead is located at the intersection of Montrose and Damen where residents of Ravenswood, North Center and Lincoln Square find common ground over beer, wine and whiskey, as well as some amazing artisanal foods to nosh on.

Most notable are the beer and whiskey lists. Although the options for beer and whiskeys come from all over the world, they strongly support and have a great representation of local breweries and distilleries throughout the menu. Side note: I am a wine drinker and have never been disappointed with the options they have in that department.

Not only do their beverage offerings change with the season, but their featured menu items highlight seasonal ingredients as well, because their menu is designed around the drink list. When it comes to ordering off the food menu, I love getting anything that comes with fries or ordering a pint of fries to share as a snack or appetizer. Besides my love of fried things and always wanting fries anyways, I ultimately just want some of their house-made ketchup. Sides and condiments aside, their entrées are great too!
