Fulton River Park – Sunny corner & dogwatching!

In a city famous for it’s architecture and skyscrapers, open green spaces and few and far between in the Loop area. I count my blessings for the small green patch next door called the Fulton River Park which is my sunny spot in the city. However, the park is more often used by dog owners and dog walkers to let their little furry friends stretch their legs or get some more serious exercise playing catch or fetch.

I love dogs, I always wanted one as a kid and I still do but do not think living in an apartment would be fair to these free-spirited creatures, so on pleasant weekends I go dog-watching in the park while getting my dose of vitamin D. This park also has steps which make a great venue for an outside high intensity interval workouts.

In winters, when it snows a few inches, get your snow sleds out and take advantage of the natural slope of the park and get a few downhill runs in to burn the calories from the Blommer chocolate store nearby! The park also has a small children’s playground and an enclosed dog park.
