One of the OGs of beer craze in Chicago is Half Acre which started brewing at their Lincoln Square-North Center location in 2008. After several years, this microbrewery has developed a huge following of what I consider to be legit beer nerds. With their mainstay favorite Daisy Cutter, an IPA that if you’re from Chicago, you’re getting at any street festival you can for their special releases of barrel-aged and interesting brews, this is definitely a brewery that prides themselves on doing cool stuff that you need to check out!
Enjoy a few different brews since they offer tasters and various sizes of their beers on tap. They also have a delectable food menu with the most innovative and delicious burritos like pineapple pork fried rice or the california with carne asada AND fries wrapped up in a warm tortilla. I’ll always go back for more when it comes to their snack options too, give me their homemade chips or nachos and a beer any day!
Check their website for more info about tours next door to the taproom for a behind the scenes look. They opened their second taproom at 2050 W Balmoral so be sure to check it out for more outdoor hangs and a rotating food menu.
Fun Fact: The featured photo is of Edinburgh spotter Anson and me enjoying a drink! Cheers!
