Situated on a street with some of the city’s most popular nightlife bars and venues, Henry’s offers the perfect mix of comfort, personality and class. Located on the infamous Hubbard Street in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, Henry’s draws in crowds from all over the city, during all hours of the day, for all occasions.
The chic bar offers a lively, hip atmosphere with music, artistic murals, games and pool. The laid-back vibe exudes more of a local bar feel, while the plush, antique décor and seating gives off a swanky lounge vibe. Henry’s is one of those places where I go to grab a cocktail after work and end up staying the night, getting wrapped up in a game of pool or in the social scene surrounding the bar and lounge tables.
Since I often frequent this spot for happy hour, I am usually coming from work hungry; therefore, I am well-versed in the menu and have identified my go-to favorites. At only $4, the crispy cauliflower is the perfect snack to hold me over during happy hour. If I’m planning on making a night of my post-work visit, I opt in for the sliders (my favorites are the Fried Oyster at $3.50, Cuban at $7 and Fried Chicken at $4) and end the night right with table-side s’mores (assuming I’m actually seated at a table and not roaming around the lounge area). With the comfort of the food and atmosphere at Henry’s, this spot is a hidden gem within Chicago’s bustling social scene.
