There are a lot of great options for Thai food in Chicago’s many neighborhoods. At Joy’s Noodles & Rice there is never a wait and you can show up in your fat pants to chow down on noodles if you wanted. In my opinion, one of the best parts of any restaurant is when they offer BYOB, which Joy’s does!
Joy’s is a standby for delivery, carry out and eating in by Chicagoans in the north Lakeview, Boys Town, Wrigleyville neighborhoods. It is perfect for large groups because they always have plenty of space, but it’s also pleasant if you are stopping in solo for some take out or a quick meal. When dining in, there’s nothing fancy about their decor, but I think it’s great for a casual date or group outing.
The service is friendly and fast, so if you’re starving you don’t have to wait too long for your super combo appetizer with fried shu mai, crab Rangoon, fried wonton, and fried tofu for only 8 bucks! Other noteworthy dishes to try are the chicken coconut curry, pad see ew, and pad khee mao.
