Lincoln Hall – Intimate music venue

Lincoln Hall is a nice north side music venue in the heart of Lincoln Park near DePaul University. It is very conveniently located less than a 5 minute walk from the Fullerton red/brown/purple line stop and just down the street from a couple of good blues music clubs (B.L.U.E.S. and Kingston Mines).

I like Lincoln Hall for various reasons: it’s small and intimate, showcases an eclectic lineup of musicians, has a good beer selection and decent food. I’ve seen some good shows here – from Architecture in Helsinki to Calexico and Tokyo Police Club to Langhorne Slim and the Law. You typically won’t find really big names here, but you’ll get a good show from national and international acts.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Lincoln Hall is fancy, but it’s not divey either. It’s a nice, clean venue with standing room downstairs and chairs and couches upstairs. Try to get your tickets in advance because at 17:00 day-of-show all remaining tickets are sold as first-come, first-served basis at the door.
