Paddy Long's Chicago

Paddy Long’s – Bacon bar

I like Paddy Long’s for two reasons: 1, they have some very good beer and 2, they are conveniently located near a rock climbing wall. I like to climb for a few hours and then move over to Paddy Long’s for a few drinks and some of their Guinness stew (get the cup, it’s about the same quantity as the bowl and delicious). The atmosphere here is very chilled out.

Most people like Paddy Long’s for the atmosphere (it’s bacon oriented) and the fact that all of their beers in the bar are to be paired with some of the great bacon sampling they have. I didn’t know there was that much bacon in the world but I have had five times more bacon than I had before I went to Paddy Long’s. It was delicious, and I don’t even like bacon that much.

Don’t forget that they also have a monthly special where you can get a beer for $4. Really good deal for the city and the beer is usually pretty good, better than decent. Personally, I find it hard to stick to just one as most of their beers are just fantastic. I’m a sucker for the coffee tasting beers they tend to have on tap.
