Pizzeria Portofino is an upscale casual restaurant located directly on Chicago’s riverfront offering hand-stretched pizza and pasta. It has a large patio and decor that will transport you to Italy’s coastal towns.
The bar is a great spot to grab breezy cocktail spritzes and wine while soaking in some of Chicago’s riverfront breeze and views. Great for watching Chicago’s boating scene, as many wealthy owners dock alongside the restaurant.
Their food is truly authentic and does transport you to Positano or Amalfi with their freshly prepared pizzas and pastas, as well as antipastos like burrata with olives or meatball parmigiana.
It is difficult to get a table during peak hours, especially when the weather is nice. I recommend putting your name in and wandering the riverfront or making a reservation in advance.
This is a very scene-y spot, so if you want to do something slightly posh, but not break the bank, this is a great place to feel and be just a little bit extra.
