This is the best Salvation Army I’ve ever been to. To those of you who do not know what Salvation Army is, it’s a resale store that has clothing, old stuff, and old furniture. The one in downtown Chicago has three floors. Top floor: clothing and old stuff (the old stuff area is really cool). First floor: Furniture (it can range from amazing old pieces to newer crap). Basement: random crap (also known as bric-a-brac; this stuff is just random and often creepy). There is so much to see here. It’s super vintage and awesome. Definitely go here if you like shopping for old stuff and good deals.
I’ve picked up some fifties bowls and teacups that are practically indestructible. Every time I go there I wish I had more space for furniture. And I just love to browse the upstairs old stuff area. I don’t often look through the clothing section personally. It’s so huge that it can be daunting.
This place is located under a weird bridge. Don’t be freaked out by the location. It’s not as bad as it looks.
