Sheffield’s is a great bar in Lakeview, just north of the Belmont red/brown/purple line stop. When you first enter Sheffield’s, it seems small, but as you continue walking back you will find that Sheffield’s is quite large, with three different bars, two fireplaces and a beer garden.
Sheffield’s is most well known for their extensive beer selection, and each of the three bars has a different beer menu. Choosing a beverage can be overwhelming, but the friendly staff can help you find the right drink. Sheffield’s is also known for their food. They smoke their own meat in the back, so barbecue is their specialty. I really like the pulled pork, supplemented with five different barbecue sauces. However, my favorite menu item would be the sweet potato fries. They are crunchy and crinkle cut – just the way I like them. They happen to be my favorite in the whole city.
Sheffield’s also has an excellent beer garden with picnic tables and a big tree which makes it seem like a sanctuary inside Chicago’s concrete jungle. Be sure to check the schedule because they have live music and other fun events, like trivia night, pumpkin carving, movies and more.
